Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the charming heart of the mountains, Las Donas stands out as a remarkable haven for weary travelers. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the staff's warm smiles, which set a positive tone for my stay. The restoration of the property cleverly blends historical touches with modern comforts—an impressive feat for a historic building. My room was a delightful sanctuary featuring superb bedding that made it easy to drift into slumber after a long day of trekking. Dining here was a highlight. I savored breakfast each morning in the elegant side dining room, where the spread was abundant and thoughtfully curated. Each dish showcased the region's culinary heritage, and the local vibe created an uplifting atmosphere. The hotel’s on-site restaurant, El Casino Bar Restaurante, offered a fantastic dinner experience too; I indulged in a dish that expertly combined traditional flavors with innovative techniques, a clear testament to their commitment to culinary excellence. As I listened to the gentle sound of the river from my window, I felt truly at ease. Las Donas is an exquisite gem along the Camino—a place where comfort and culinary creativity flourish. I can’t wait to return!
